Early Birthday Celebration

Today we celebrated all the August Birthdays in the James family. We had Daniel, Janessa and Emilie. I can't believe that my baby is almost 1 year old. Time has really flown by.




Elizabeth gladly accepted the assignment to be the official "opening presents helper". She was really sweet with Emilie. Thomas also wanted to help so Janessa offered that he could help her with her presents. He was really cute about it and asked Janessa if she didn't know how to open presents and then he continued to tell her that he would show her where she could rip the paper.


Emilie LOVED her first tasted of a cupcake. She devoured that cupcake rather quickly.

Comfy floors

Thomas has recently decided that he doesn't like his bed anymore and that he prefers to sleep on the floor. So he sleeps on a blanket (not very soft) and he doesn't use his pillow most of the time. Well tonight he decided that the blanket was too soft and this is how I found him in the hallway. He seems to be quite comfortable. I transferred him to his "floor bed" and now he at least has a comfortable blanket to sleep on ;)

Look who is walking

Emilie took her first steps in Bali. One day she was able to stand up by herself and the next day she took her first steps. Over the next few weeks she started to perfect her walking skills and she is now doing really well.

First Grade

The day before "the first day" we went to the school to meet Elizabeth's teacher. I can't believe I already have a first grader who will be going to school all day long.

Soccer

Elizabeth had her first soccer practice last week. She loved it. We went out on Tuesday to buy her some soccer cleats and shin guards and she had been wearing them ever since around the house.




After the practice she received her shirt, shorts and socks. As soon as we got home she wanted to try them on and play some more soccer in the backyard.

Cute little Monkeys

Elizabeth has discovered the joys of climbing trees. She loves it. Most of all she loves hanging upside down.
