water = fun

The water hose is very popular around here. Elizabeth and Thomas both love to drink from the hose. I have never let them drink from it but I have recently given up. They do it anyway and Thomas has figured out how to turn on the water and loves to drink it. They were having so much fun so I just enjoyed watching them and taking pictures.

I think these plants won't need to be watered anymore till about next year ;)

Just chilling on the porch..

... add some graham crackers and some water and the kids are in heaven!

Fun in the park

We just love going to the park especially when daddy comes along!

This is a special needs swing but it is Elizabeth's favorite. The kids had a blast sitting in it together.

Not worth the 2 bucks!

In the month of August Thanksgiving Point has this special that on Tuesday's the entrance fee for all venues is $ 2.00. I thought this would be a great opportunity to take the children to the dinosaur museum. Elizabeth has been wanting to go there for a while now since she is four now and is not afraid anymore of the dinosaurs (that is what she said). We took her when she was three and she did not like it at all. She thought the dinosaurs were scary "back then".
We went bright and early and apparently I wasn't the only one with the "Bright Idea" to go there. As we drove up I saw this line that was just out of this world. I was ready to turn around and go home but Elizabeth insisted on going. I got the kids out put Thomas in the stroller and the waiting began.

We had already been in line for a while and had even turned a corner and this is how many people were still ahead of us (this is on the side of the museum) not counting the ones that were still around the other corner ahead.

Both Elizabeth and Thomas were very patient. I think it took close to 45 minutes to get in. Well right before entering the building Elizabeth said: "Mom, this is taking a long time. I don't like the Stop Go Stop Go Stop Go". We were almost there and I wasn't going to turn around at that point so I told her that we were going inside.

Imagine all those people crammed in the museum. It was busy and noisy and since Elizabeth is quite sensitive to noise this is how she walked around most of the time.
Being four didn't quite help her to think that the dinosaurs weren't scary anymore. She did a lot better than last year but still wasn't to charmed with the SCARY creatures.

The water/sand area was a great hit.

So was the digging for bones.

The new place to be...

..When it it HOT!

Highland has this new water feature next to their new library and it is a great place to be for the children. Both Elizabeth and Thomas had so much fun playing in the water and it was so refreshing. We will definitely be back here on hot days.

The day has come!

Elizabeth does not like (very mildly expressed) to have her hair done so the day finally came that I was done doing her hair. Off we went to the haircut place. As we parked the car in front of the haircut place she said: "Oh nooooooooooo". I think she realized I really meant it.

Before:

During:

She was not very happy.

After:

Not very happy changed very quickly into HAPPY when she realized that it would be easy and painless to have her hair done from now on. She loves it! and so do I. I think it looks cute and it is quite easy to do.

Bike parades

Yearly the Primary in our ward organizes a flag day bike parade. All the kids gathered and decorated their bikes red white and blue. Elizabeth got lots of help. She didn't even have to get off her bike. They did a great job decorating.

Look at the pretty necklace and bracelet. She insisted on wearing them to the parade.

Some of our cute neigbor girls all decorated :)

Just a few days later we did another bike parade with some of her cousins.

They had a wonderful crowd to cheer them on.

The kids had so much fun biking up and down the street.

Nice hair

When I was younger (I mean really young) my mom would braid my hair so it would be wavy the next morning. I thought this would be fun to do with Elizabeth. She was quite excited when I told her about it.
This is what it looked at at night:

The next morning:
