Colorado - Part 2

On Tuesday we all left for Allenspark CO to spent three days at a cabin. It was lovely. Bruce grew up spending many of his family vacations in this area. Here are some pictures of our surroundings.

Leslie found some nice wild flowers to make everything feel even more rustic.

On Wednesday we went on a hike to Wild Basin.

After the hike we went back to the cabin to pick Emilie and Grandpa up (Emilie stayed behind so she could take a nap) and then we headed over to Estes Park. Where Leslie treated us to some yummy ice cream.

Colorado - Part 1

The day Elizabeth got out of school we left for Colorado. On Saturday our niece Emma was going to be baptized. The kids were very excited to leave to see their cousins. I don't think they realized how long the drive was going to be so we were asked many times if we were almost there. They did really well and I love modern technology. Were would we be without dvd players. The kids spent a lot of time playing on Friday and we even went swimming.
On Saturday we attended Emma's baptism which was one of the highlights of the trip.

Emilie found a new friend. She loved Lily. She would pet her follow her around and lay with her on her pillow. Emilie was quite fascinated with Lily and Lily was very patient.

On Monday we went to the children's museum. The kids had a blast.

They dressed up as fire fighters and played on a fire truck.

Pretended to be train conductor while playing with trains.

The kids loved using tools to create things.

They pretended to be bugs.

In another part of the museum the kids were able to create all different bubbles. It was quite fascinating.

The girls even created an enormous bubble around themselves.

Catching bubbles.

They painted (don't tell them I forget to pick up the paintings before leaving).

They had another area with these machines that had air coming out of them and the kids were experimenting with little scarfs flying in the air. Emilie thought it was quite intriguing.

The girls created floating devises.

It actually worked.

We even found a place were the kids could dress up like veterinarians. Emma was in heaven.

And lastly we found this area that was especially created for kids 4 and under. The girls could come in if they wore these special helper vests. They felt special and really took care of Thomas and Elizabeth.

After finishing up our visit to the museum we met up with the rest of the family at Casa Bonita and had a fun dinner and quite the entertainment for the kids.

School Dance Festival

During the last week of school  the  kids do lots of fun things. One of the things that they participate in the the Dance Festival. They practice for several weeks and then preform to the parents. Each grade does a specific dance.

The kids were waiting for their turn right next to the speakers and it was quite loud.

Picnic in the mountains

To finish of the memorial day celebrations we went to the mountains with Marlynn, Jane and Leslie for a picnic. The kids found this big log to play on and had a blast.

We were a little nervous having Emilie stand on the log so Bruce was holding her legs haha.
