(Ward Chrismas Party 2007)When Elizabeth joined our family we discussed whether or not to do Santa with our children and we decided against it. We have always told her that Santa is not real and but that it is fun to pretend and still talk about it. She is almost four and on and asks regularly if Santa is real since she sees it all around her. We keep telling her he isn't and that we buy her presents.
On Monday Elizabeth was playing with her cousins Harrison (age 10) and Nathan (age 6). This is how the conversation went:
Harrison: What is Santa going to bring you this year?
Elizabeth: Santa is not real.
Harrison: Yes, he is real. He gives you presents.
Elizabeth: No, mommy and daddy buy the presents.
Well guess who still believes in Santa... Nathan. He was standing next to them listening to the conversation. Oops!
Luckily Ellen thinks he still believes and that Elizabeth didn't completely spill the beans but this might be the beginning of the end.
BEWARE around my daughter because she will apparently tell you the way it is.....
