We had a quite uneventful flight to The Netherlands. We were fortunate enough to get on a nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Paris. I loved this flight. Our flight didn't leave until 5 pm which meant that the kids could just relax in the morning and for part of the afternoon and Thomas was able to take his nap. After we took off and had our dinner on the flight I got Thomas all ready and he slept for a big part of the flight. Elizabeth also got a few hours of sleep in. Our kids are just amazing when we travel. They are like little angels! Be have really been blessed with our little well behaved travel partners. We just had an hour and a half layover in Paris and then another 45 minute flight to Amsterdam.

It was great to spent time with family and friends. It was especially fun for my family to meet Thomas. My mom was the only one who had seen him.

The "Martini tower" in Groningen. This is a big Tower in my hometown that is located right off the town square of the city. They had put in an artificial ice rink at the town square and we took Elizabeth ice skating a couple of times. She just loved it. Unfortunately we didn't bring a camera to take a picture of her. While we were in Holland it was quite a bit colder than normal so the ponds, rivers, canals and lakes were frozen so people started iceskating on natual ice. This brought back memories from when I was young.

My crazy brother Ivar.
For Christmas my parents prepared a wonderful "Indische Rijsttafel" (Broad selection Indonesian Dishes). For those of you who don't know, my dad is Indonesian. It was so delicious. It had been a long time since I've had Indonesian food.

My paternal grandparents are buried in a small city called Roden and we always try to visit the grave with the children.
Another thing we have started to do it to document more of our family history. We have taken all off my families old family pictures and scanned them and had them give us some information on them so we can start preserving them for the future. It's been a fun project. Bruce has been so nice to take the time to do this for us. My goal is to start a blog and put all the pictures on there and share them with everyone.
